Established as a Strict Reserve in 1969, it is a group of rocky Velebit peaks, some of which are 2000 meters high. Fascinating speleological locations can be found in the Kukovi Strict Reserve, most prominent of them being the Lukina jama cave which was discovered in 1992.

The main goal will be to establish contacts with other radio stations around Europe and the world from bases set up in or around Geoparks. The main transmitting freq's to be used are 3.680, 7.080, 14.180, 21.180, and 28.180MHz.
